Monthly Horoscopes : Libra (September 23 - October 22) Your Monthly December 2012

Life was hard for you over a very long time - three endless years - that it would be understandable if you simply dream of getting away to a sunny place where cell phones don’t work and no one knows your name. While you couldn’t quite say that things are exactly easy now, you do have to admit a little grudgingly that things are getting better. Keep this in mind: no matter what Saturn asked you to face over the past three years (up to October 5, 2012) you won’t see anything that difficult again in the future.

I don’t want you to dread Saturn in any of the places he visits your chart, because he typically does not create situations that difficult. You happened to have found yourself flying into an airspace that contained battling planets - Saturn was receiving shots from Uranus (making your spouse or other partner/ competitor unpredictable and difficult, and the eclipses in Cancer- Capricorn (2009-2011) were creating havoc in your career and home life, and so tense were these vibrations that your health may have suffered.

As you see, Saturn not had to fight off a whole street gang of planetary artillery, and because Saturn was in your sign, Libra, you probably didn’t know what hit you when it all started. Things lasted a long time, from 2008 when Pluto came into a tough position, but then gradually, in 2009 Saturn moved into a bad position, then Uranus, and at the same time the eclipses were turning life inside out and backward. It must have felt endless going through all that.

If it were not for the positions of Uranus, Pluto, Saturn, and the eclipses, you would not have found Saturn in Libra so hard. You had a rare circumstance, as Saturn only arrives in Libra once every 29 years, for a three-year stay. You are done now with most of the problems, although Uranus and Pluto are hanging out in tough positions, but compared with the dragons you had before, you can deal with them. You are now tougher, smarter, and far more seasoned in life than you were back in 2008, and now you feel you can handle anything life throws your way.

A lack of money seems to be your problem, and this is actually new for you. You are not used to having to watch your pennies, but money management with slim resources seems to be the new lesson that Saturn has for you. Actually, though, if you work with Saturn (rather than resist his lessons), you can leave the coming period wealthier than when you entered it.

Saturn will teach you to cut waste, negotiate a hard bargain, and find new sources of income, too. Your main problem is that employers are budget conscious, but it won’t always be this way. Saturn will be with you until September 2015, but after that, you will carry his lessons for the nearly three decades into the future. You won’t feel Saturn the whole time, either, only when he directly contacts other planets in your natal chart, so it’s not doom and gloom for three years - Saturn would never do that to you. We all go through Saturn’s training camp - you are getting yours done now, and you won’t have to worry about this coming up in the future.

Now last month’s eclipse of November 28 was in Gemini, and may have sent you on an exciting trip abroad or if not, soon will, as that eclipse was very positive for Libra, and doubly so if you were born near September 29. I love that this full moon was conjunct Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck. That is rare - I almost never see an eclipse land so close to Jupiter.

The same house, the ninth house, where foreign travel is being stimulated for you, is essentially a house of education and philosophy. You may start to look through brochures for classes to sign up for in your next college semester and find you thoroughly enjoy the classes you take. If you are taking exams this month, you will do well, and the same is true if you are defending your thesis. Publishing and broadcast projects shine, and if you are in a legal dispute, or need to file papers with the courts, such as a legal trademark, you will find the process goes smoothly and in your favor. If you hope to get citizenship in another country, or a green card or visa, this November 28 will work hard for you and make it happen.

If you did not see any news last month, you may hear something in the first days of December or, conversely, one month to a day later, plus or minus five days from December 28. I was surprised to see that the first twelve days of December have no major aspects and therefore life will be quiet. You will have time to digest the many events that have transpired since the two difficult “monster moons” as I had called them, September 29 and October 29, and to consider your next moves.

Home and property matters are certain to be on your list of things to think about until Mars leaves your fourth house of home on December 25. You can take a break on those matters once Mars leaves on Christmas day, but come January you will be back thinking about the big decisions you need to make involving home. In January you will have your best time to move forward assertively, as all conditions will be right, and you can uncover lots of options. You seem to have a sense of urgency about settling matters, so even though it is holiday season, you seem ready to deal your cards. Alternatively, the fourth house also rules parents, so you may be thinking about your parent and looking for ways to help your mother or father. Answers are coming, so keep looking. As I said, January will be such a big month for home and property matters.

The new moon December 13 will appear in Sagittarius 21 degrees, so more travel may come up, either far or near, perhaps suddenly, more likely done for pleasure than for work. If no travel comes up, it may be that you are heavily focused on your sister or brother, as your third house, associated with siblings, will be strongly lit. Remarkably, the day after the new moon, December 14, Mercury will be in beautiful angle to Uranus, underscoring the theme of sudden, spontaneous travel or a flurry of communication that would arrive on your desk.

The full moon in Cancer, 7 degrees, on December 28 will have mixed aspects and concern your career, and you would be wise to treat this full moon cautiously. The full moon will fall in your tenth house of fame, but is in direct opposition to Pluto and in hard angle to Uranus. If you were hoping to get a new position, you may face a barrage of competition for that job, whether you know about the others or not. To make matters worse, you seem to be either getting flack from your romantic partner or family back home, or you may not agree with your broker or lawyer about what the best steps are to take. Clearly, a lot is going on at home, and in other parts of your life, and the pressure has been building.

You do have help from Saturn in your house of money at this time, so it appears you can forge a good, long-term solution to any dilemma if you are determined to sort through the options. Because Saturn is in Scorpio, the answers will be hidden, and it will be up to you to unearth them. Don’t let this full moon trouble you - there are many opportunities in this world. If the company you are talking to can’t see your value, then let them have their old job. If you do get the job, it’s because you triumphed over many adversities. It may or may not be worth it.

Mars will leave your home and family sector when it leaves Capricorn on December 25, and bring in a new influence - one of romance and fun. Capricorn is a very difficult, prickly place for you to host Mars, but now you are almost done (by December 25), and in the meantime Mars will help you settle property matters, despite the chorus from family who seems have opinions. You will have the wonderful romantic influence just when you need it, in the week many people are off from work, between Christmas and New Year’s and throughout all of January, until February 1.

Venus will cooperate, too, by moving in Sagittarius, from December 15 to January 8 and that’s a fire sign that blends nicely with your air sign element. Mars’ tour of Aquarius is sensational for you, and for once, Venus and Mars will be in agreement to help Cupid do his work. Venus will be in your travel sector, so if you can go away, even a small distance, say 50 miles, to visit friends or relatives, on your rounds, you may meet someone new and fan the fires of love even more. Mars’ visit to Aquarius could not be better news, and it’s favor you’ve not had for two years, not since January-February 2011!

If you are attached, the planet now in your house of marriage, Uranus, has been retrograde since July 13, but will move forward with a bolt on December 13, the same day as the new moon. After that happens, you will find it easier to relate to your partner and to find areas of agreement. Admittedly, it won’t always be smooth - Uranus will have a tiff with the Sun on December 25, making your relationship again fragile - but knowing where the sensitive spots lie will help you avoid problems. This is why we study astrology, so we can be forearmed when difficult aspects come up and take full advantage when brilliant ones arrive.

Speaking of brilliant aspects, you will be amazed to hear this, but you have the potential for the most staggeringly happy New Year’s Eve in years, possibly the best ever! With Mars in perfect angle to Uranus on December 31, you have plenty of surprises, all delicious ones, in store for that evening. The moon will be in Leo, allowing you to experience lots of luxury and pampering. Make plans, dear Libra!

Happy New Year!

Monthly Horoscopes : Aries (March 21 - April 19) Your Monthly Forecast December 2012

You must be really excited about emerging career opportunities you have started to see pop up since the middle of November. Mars has recently entered your tenth house, and that rules your professional progress, including honors, awards, achievement, and fame you may be experiencing since mid-November. No matter what your work status, you are suddenly in demand. If you are among those Aries who have been out of work, you must do your best to arrange appointments now with anyone influential that will let you in the door. Mars will not make any important communications with other planets, but nevertheless, this is one of the most important periods of 2012 for your career, and you need to take full advantage. Later, on January 11, an important new moon will occur in the same sector, and it will come with an entourage of planets - a huge entourage. The harder you work now to show VIPs what you can do, the better.

Do not assume that in December people are in a festive mood, not in a hiring mood. You can prove that thinking plain wrong. Your chart says your time is NOW. You may have already received a new position in November, but if not, keep pushing. You will have until December 25, the day Mars will move into Aquarius, to bring the emphasis elsewhere. If you did get a new position or lots of attention in your present job, use this period to show your boss you are ready for more and that you are a person of vision.

The first twelve days of December will be quiet, without any important aspects. This is unusual, but because there was a key lunar eclipse in Gemini on November 28, sometimes the universe leaves a calm space so that we can digest all that transpired last month. That eclipse lit your third house of communication and was very favorable to you. By now you must be fielding lots of emails, phone calls, and meetings as a result. The word “travel” may come up a lot too, whether for business or pleasure, or both. That same eclipse may bring more emphasis on your sister or brother, as Gemini, the sign of the eclipse, rules siblings. You may be making special plans together. Eclipses shake things up and make things happen - you’ll see, this will be a very active month.

If you were born near March 25 (plus or minus five days), or have a planet at or within five degrees of 7 degrees of Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, Gemini, Libra, or Aquarius, that November 28 eclipse was extra special for you. I am enthusiastic about what is going on in your life, because that eclipse supported your sign by being conjunct abundant Jupiter. That aspect happens about once every ten years, if that, so the eclipse was as rare as it was special. You are a fire sign, and that eclipse was in an air sign, which makes your fire element brighter.

So as you begin December, follow along your own agenda, and don’t let anyone veer you off course. The planets will cooperate, and now that Mercury is no longer retrograde, the frustrating delays you felt last month are over. You can be productive, so keep moving forward. Keep reminding yourself that the new moon next month, January 11, will help you find the right top position, or if you have it, prove to management that you are a star and they made the right decision. You seem to be moving up in your industry, impressing everyone in sight. Mars will help you to set up meetings and stir up interest. Any position you interview for will be high level - this would be no lateral move because the tenth house is involved, not the sixth house, which would have had you moving only laterally.

The new moon of December 13 will be one of your big moments of the month. First, on the very same day, Uranus in Aries will move direct, energizing you and allowing you to speed ahead on all your dearest dreams. Uranus, the planet of independence, has been retrograde since July 13. If you watch very closely the phone calls, emails, and meetings you receive near this date (plus or minus 2 days), you will get a clue of what’s to come, and specifically what part of your life is about to create all the right fireworks. When news happens, it will be sudden, but may be subtle. You will know - there won’t be any guessing.

This new moon December 13 will be in Sagittarius, the sign of international and long-distance travel, university study and teaching, broadcasting and publishing, legal matters and court cases, and immigration / visa / passport matters. All will blossom beautifully at this time, so pick one and work on that goal. If your birthday falls on April 10, plus or minus five days, you will benefit the most from this new moon, but every Aries should have something to be excited about. New moons open new paths, and this one is no exception.

The following day, December 14, Mercury will be in conversation with Uranus, in a perfect “trine” (from the word triangle, 120 degrees, the most harmonious angle possible) and will either bring outstandingly good news, or just as excitingly, set you off on a wonderful trip, right out of the blue. You might want to get your suitcase out from under the bed and ready to go in a moment’s notice.

The last week of the month will be very active, too - surprisingly so. Christmas brings the moon to Gemini, which will bring lots of messages, meetings, and greetings. However, the same day, Uranus will be in hard angle to the Sun, and for you that means you may find your romantic partner to be touchy and overwrought. Romance will be fragile and sensitive, and could easily take a wrong turn, so be careful about the words you use. You might want to avoid controversial subjects and tip toe around your partner. Too much eating or drinking will only make matters worse.

Mars, your ruler, will move into Aquarius on Christmas Day, December 25, a great day for you, so the picture has bright spots, for sure. Aquarius is the sign of friendship, so in the coming six weeks, you will find that your friends will play a bigger role in your life, and rather than just think about work, you will have events to look forward to attending, so life will have more balance and more fun.

Family and home-related decisions will get settled on the full moon on December 28, plus or minus four days. With Uranus still acting like a bull in a china shop, you may feel very stirred up and emotional. You may be settling a new residential situation or be concerned over the well being of your mother, father, or other close family member. This full moon will be in Cancer, 7 degrees, and will be in hard angle to Uranus. To add to the tension, this full moon will oppose Pluto, so clearly someone will almost force you to agree to something you don’t want to accept. The pressure may be strong, so if necessary, break the connection by saying you need a little time to think. You won’t likely have any options to delay your decision (full moons bring things to a head), but even a half-day of time to think may help you find clarity.

The Aries who will feel the most stress from this full moon will be those born near March 27. Yet things are mixed and you will have outstanding support from Mars if born at the end of March, which is a big help. Mars is your guardian planet and has to be weighted as “more” (in this case, special) for you. If you didn’t feel the helpful eclipse of last month, which was positive, you will feel it now, one month to the day later, plus or minus five days. (You can always check to see what I wrote for the previous month by clicking on the link to last month’s forecast below the summary.)

So you see, you will have lots of good things happening, too - this full moon is a mixed bag. Saturn, the planet ruling your profession, will be in beautiful angle to Pluto, and Pluto will conjunct the Sun, meaning Saturn will be friendly to the Sun and full moon, too - your creativity at the end of the month will shine and you will find ways to stabilize your finances. What a calico quilt of aspects!

As you get closer to the end of the month, you have better aspects for romance. Venus will be in fellow fire sign Sagittarius, a plus for you, from December 15 to January 9, and beginning on Christmas Day, Mars, your ruler, will be in one of the best places to be for you, Aquarius. You can see about staging a wonderful upgrade to your appearance, so why not go for it? Mercury is no longer retrograde, and Venus and Mars will support your decisions!

Here’s the big surprise of the month: Your best day of December, at least socially, will be December 31, New Year’s Eve, with Mars trine Uranus. Surprises, happiness, and being surrounded with a great many friends around you will make this a celebratory night just made for you! Any tensions earlier in the week will be, hopefully, forgotten. With the moon in Leo, you have a la-de-da night with luxury, pampering, just what you need. Happy New Year, dear Aries!

Monthly Horoscopes : Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21) Your Monthly Forecast December 2012

It’s birthday month, and a fresh new canvas awaits the swirl of your paintbrush. How will you color your new birthday year ahead, dear Sagittarius? It’s an exciting time to be you, and all the other little planets will stand aside to give you the right of way. Everyone will be eager to hear what you hope to happen next, so don’t disappoint them, dear Sagittarius. State your desires clearly and with your whole heart.

Your most important moment of the month will occur at the new moon, December 13 in Sagittarius. You can use the energy of that new moon in any way you please, which is a rare, once-a-year privilege, so take it and use it for all it’s worth. You are likely to view yourself, your talents, and experience in a whole new light in the days after that new moon arrives.

Oftentimes, we go along and don’t really notice any changes in ourselves or in our lives - everything seems the same. Of course, that is an illusion, for things are always either improving or deteriorating. Life is a continual series of both that go on in different areas of our lives. When something reaches a tipping point, we assumed that things have happened out of the blue, but of course, that is not always true - the clues were there but you never noticed. This month you are likely to see things improve quite a bit, and others will call you an overnight sensation, but when they do, you’ll smile to yourself because you will know better - you will have put in all the elbow grease necessary to put you on top of the mountain. December 14 may turn out to be a stunning career day.

At this time of the year you will have control over the way things go, and you won’t have to compromise as much as you might expect. Others are looking to you for a statement about what should happen next, so step up and boldly give your answer when asked. This year you may long for adventure and new experiences, and you should find ways to satisfy that yearning, possibly by traveling to a location new to you. Travel will be possible - you will find a way if it is important to you.

The exciting part of a new moon in one’s own birth sign, as will happen to you at the new moon in Sagittarius on December 13, is that you will be given a bundle of cosmic goodies as a gift from a loving universe. Your most critical time to make decisions and launch new ventures that are dear to you will be just hours and days after that new moon arrives. Don’t waste this energy on anything you are not passionate about - you are the only one who would know what that might be - but this new moon is meant to fit all that is “you” like a glove. It’s not the time to take other’s counsel, but rather to look into your own heart and express your own will.

If your birthday falls on December 13 plus or minus five days, your coming year will be filled with more than one exciting new chapter that will soon start. It is rare to have a new moon coincide with one’s birthday in any given year, but apparently that is happening for you.

The very next day, December 14, Mercury, the planet of thinking, reasoning, and negotiation, will be in fine conversation with Uranus, a planet considered the “higher octave of Mercury,” bringing thought into the realm of genius. What a day that December 14 will be for you! Use it to do creative work, or to experiment in a scientific / biological level. Or, use it to help others, in the humanitarian sense, for Uranus will always be linked to compassion, charity, and the need to make the world a better place.

It is remarkable that in a month that has such emphasis, Uranus, planet of surprise and genius, will turn direct from being retrograde since July 13. Uranus is currently making a seven-year journey through your house of true love. The fact that Uranus is turning direct on your most important day of the month (and possibly of the year), on the new moon in Sagittarius, is great news! If you are single and hoping to find love, only to be despondent about the dreary types you are meeting, you will adore the turnaround of Uranus. Finally, those you meet from now on will be types you can actually imagine bringing home to meet your parents and someone you can imagine building a life with in the future.

On December 19, a standout day for love, Venus in Sagittarius will reach out to Uranus in Aries and create one of the most exciting romantic evenings of the month. If you are single, this could be your day. If you are attached and hope for a baby, this day could bring that wish to fruition. If you have had problems with conception, Uranus’ move to direct will likely help you. Also, this coming April should be a superb time to conceive if you don’t immediately now.

Venus will be in Sagittarius from December 15 to January 8, increasing your charms, and will make you charismatic and magnetic. It appears that you will be on everyone’s A-list for holiday parties this year. Venus teaches the value of drawing others to you, effortlessly, and not to try too hard.

Having Venus in your sign makes this a great time to stage an upgrade to your looks. It matters not if you are a man or a woman - this is the time to show the world a new version of you. Consult a stylist or barber, try on different clothes, and treat yourself to a new outfit. Overall, when it comes to igniting the spark of love, Venus believes in embellishment - perfume is certainly in her arsenal, as is exquisite jewelry - and setting the stage with candlelight, flowers, music, wines, and delicious foods including sweets, and then letting nature take her course.

If your birthday falls on November 28, or within five days of that date, you had an important full moon lunar eclipse on that date in your opposite sign of Gemini, 7 degrees. In your case, your relationship to one important person will shape your year ahead and will be the path to personal growth this year.

As a result of that eclipse, you may promise to be exclusive to your partner, get engaged, or marry. If you are already in an established relationship, you may devise something new you can do as a powerful unit of two and show the world that together you can create something much bigger than the one plus one of yourselves combined. This eclipse will have all Sagittarians thinking big, as well it should. If you were born near this day, November 28, but have no significant other, you may now hire an expert in your business to complement your talents or officially take on an experienced business partner.

Financially, you seem to be in a period of high spending, as Mars thunders through your second house of earned income. This trend started last month on November 15, and will continue until December 25. On December 25, Mars will leave this part of your chart. Until then, it appears you will be shopping up a storm for the holidays in a generous expression of love. Still, as they say, necessity is often the mother of invention, so you may be bent on finding new sources of income, too. If so, your very best time to accomplish that would be in January 2013.

Money will also be a topic of interest at the difficult full moon in Cancer 7 degrees on December 28, in an area of influence of plus or minus five days. The type of money you will focus on will be what astrologers call “other people’s money” - legal settlements, insurance, loans, prize winnings, child support, and other one-time amounts of money that often come in chunks, not in regular payments. Yet you may notice you are feeling a push-pull between what you know you should do with your money and what your desires are telling you to do. Deciding on the appropriation of funds - of precisely how to spend money - will become a topic of concern, and in the end will reveal what is important to you, through your actions.

Romantically, your best period will arrive once Venus enters your sign, December 15 to January 8. To show you the power of Venus, watch one of your very best romantic days of the month, when Venus and Uranus combine energies, December 19, a golden day for love. Surprises will rain down on you like diamonds from the heavens. December 19 is very, very special as a date night, and if you don’t have someone to love, it’s a night to be out and about.

Once Mars enters Aquarius, December 25 to February 1, you will come into your own. Financial concerns will begin to fade almost immediately, and you’ll feel more effervescent and optimistic, and you will be able to travel for a refreshing change of pace.

You have a wonder day coming up, December 31, when Mars and surprise-a-minute Uranus will come together to bring you an outstanding New Year’s Eve. The moon will be in Leo, a sign that blends beautifully with yours. This portends for a banner night to ring in the New Year, dear Sagittarius.
